Assists physicians and advanced practice providers in the examination and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, performing clinical tests, and managing patient records and scheduling.
Requires the ability to perform clinical tasks such as venipuncture and EKG, as well as administrative duties. Candidates must be able to accurately document patient history and maintain sterile environments.
Summary Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician, ARNP or PA. How will you make an impact & Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Obtains and documents vital signs (blood pressure, weight, height, respirations, temperature, and heart rate), pain scale, 02 saturation and body mass index (BMI). Reviews and updates reason for visit, medications, allergies, social history, family history, surgical history, and any required screenings or quality measures with patient/family. Ensures patient's chart is complete. Interviews patient to identify current patient concerns and relevant patient history. Completes written documentation in patient medical records according to policies and protocols. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. Performs venipuncture’s, collects routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician, performs basic laboratory procedures, administers basic first aid, assists with or performing aseptic procedures. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Inventories and orders stocks medical supplies and materials. Sets up and performs Operates x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and may perform other tests if trained: Holter Monitors, nerve conduction, PFT. Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests if trained. Schedules / reschedules appointments, receives money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes appropriate forms. Keys data accurately into computer to maintain office and patient records with no errors. Keeps charts prepared and ready for physician and patient.
