The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations and procedures, accurately obtaining vital signs and histories, and performing various in-office treatments like EKGs and administering injections. They must also manage patient communications regarding test results and handle prescription refill requests according to protocol.
Required qualifications include at least one year of professional back-office Medical Assistant experience, dependability, courtesy, and proficiency in all listed clinical and administrative tasks. Candidates must be resourceful, able to prioritize, and passionate about providing high-quality patient care.

Suite 200 Austin, TX 78735 Hours: M-F 8 am-5 pm (with occasional Saturdays 8 am-12 pm) We need a back office medical assistant to perform the following duties: Effectively check in and prepare patient for office visit/examination/procedures. Correctly obtain vital signs, perform in office procedures/treatments (EKG, spirometry, peak flow, bone density, nebulizer treatments), and relay laboratory test results of any laboratory testing done in office. Correctly obtain patient histories (Medical, Surgical, Social, etc.). Record medication and allergies of individual patients. Assist Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with examinations or in office procedures. Correctly prepare and administer immunizations and injections ordered by Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner. Appropriately monitor patients after injections/vaccinations. Effectively handle incoming phone calls from patients (or pertinent to patients), pharmacies, other physician's offices, testing resources (Radiology, laboratories, etc.), and insurance companies. Accurately notify patients of various test results and communicate appropriate follow up instructions to assure proper course of action is directed. Review refill request from pharmacies and follow in office/assigned doctor's protocol to refill or route refill requests. Clean and sanitize examination/procedure rooms. Clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments.
