The Surgical Scrub Tech assists the surgical team by anticipating the surgeon's needs during operations, maintaining strict sterile technique, and providing correct instrumentation and supplies. Essential functions include demonstrating the ability to assist physicians in the operating room and endoscopy suite while ensuring a safe environment for the patient.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program is highly preferred. A minimum of one year of experience as a surgical scrub tech is preferred, along with knowledge of various surgical procedures, instrumentation, equipment, and a current BLS certification.
Demonstrate the ability to assist the physicians with procedures in the operating room and endoscopy suite Provide correct instrumentation and supplies during the procedure Utilize aseptic technique and ensure a safe environment for the patient Utilize time management skills to facilitate the schedule Attend departmental meetings and hospital forums Routinely participate in department projects to continuously improve the department and/or organization Assist co-workers as needed/requested Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Perform other essential duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program highly preferred Minimum 1 year experience as a surgical scrub tech preferred Knowledgeable of various surgical procedures Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment Sterile conscious required Current BLS required
