The assistant will provide initial support by triaging incoming patients, guiding them toward care, and assisting with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics alongside credentialed staff. Responsibilities also include setting up and monitoring anesthesia cases, managing fluid and medication administration, and participating in patient rounds for continuity of care.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and previous experience of at least one year as a veterinary assistant, especially in emergency or specialty settings, is a bonus. Candidates must possess basic computer skills, excellent communication abilities, fine motor skills, and the physical capacity to handle patients and work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
