The Medical Assistant assists dermatologists with patient care, including preparing patients for examinations and treatments, and performs basic dermatologic procedures like biopsies and wound care under supervision. They also manage administrative tasks such as updating patient records, processing insurance forms, and ensuring room cleanliness and supply stocking.
Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, and while limited prior dermatology experience is acceptable, completion of the Association of Certified Dermatology Techs online course within six weeks of onboarding is preferred. The role requires the ability to support an average of 15 patients daily and proficiency in EMA data entry and MIPS documentation.
Must have 2-3 years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant. Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience is required. Prior cosmetic surgical experience is required. Experience using EMA is required. Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Strong phone etiquette. Teamwork. Professional in appearance and mannerisms. Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers. Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice. Strong organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on electronic medical records.
