The Physical Therapy Assistant implements treatment plans and provides modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. They focus on restoring patient functioning and achieving maximum functional capabilities using a holistic approach.
Candidates must hold an Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program and possess a valid PA Physical Therapist Assistant license. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting and Basic Life Support certification are required.
Responsible for implementing physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist. The PTA assists with the restoration of patient functioning utilizing a holistic approach to achieve the patient's maximum functional capabilities. Physical therapy treatments and modalities are provided by the PTA after the patient has been evaluated by the physical therapist. All clinical activities are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
