The Respiratory Care Practitioner I administers respiratory care to acutely ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and treatment. They also monitor patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare teams while educating patients and families on respiratory disease management.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited respiratory therapy program and hold a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. An active or pending Illinois Respiratory Care License and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are also required.
