The NP/PA will provide specialized care for women with pelvic floor disorders in an outpatient setting, conducting evaluations, managing conditions like incontinence and prolapse, and collaborating on surgical and non-surgical treatments. Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing care plans, assisting with procedures, and educating patients on their conditions and treatment options.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and hold current licensure in Tennessee, with a Master's degree required for NPs. Prior experience in women’s health, pelvic medicine, or surgical specialties is preferred, alongside strong clinical judgment and teamwork abilities.
Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)- certification in family nurse practitioner OR Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program
Minimum of 1 years' experience in women's health care setting. Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
A nurse practitioner or physician assistant is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of patients.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioners protocols.
