The Medical Assistant provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider in an outpatient clinic, focusing on preparing patients and performing essential clinical tasks. Key duties include obtaining vitals, administering treatments, drawing blood, performing lab tests, and managing documentation accurately.
Candidates need an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training. Certification by AMT or AAMA is preferred for this role.

Job Summary Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works as an important role to provide the best possible healthcare in a caring way. We truly want our patients to be treated like family.
Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions Respond to all lab messages and call back requests Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures Maintain complete and accurate documentation Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
