The role involves creating patient profiles and processing orders from electronic and fax queues, including requesting refills, and generating and typing prescriptions for pharmacist verification. Technicians must also follow up on outbound prescription transfers and clarify necessary patient demographic and clinical information.
Candidates must be a licensed/registered pharmacy technician, possess knowledge of medical terminology, brand/generic drug names, and pharmacy terminology, and have at least one year of pharmacy technician experience. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are required to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.
