The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct comprehensive psychiatric and health assessments, manage medication, and deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for clients with anxiety disorders. This role also involves leading group psychoeducational programs, providing staff education, and ensuring nursing services maintain high ethical and legal standards.
Candidates must have completed a Master’s or Doctoral level program from an accredited institution and be eligible for Illinois licensure, including a Controlled Substances Registration Certificate (DEA). Required qualifications also include strong written communication skills, the ability to present lectures, and current CPR certification.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner conducts comprehensive client assessments and supports the principles of the treatment program. This role also ensures the delivery of nursing services with a focus on continuity, while maintaining the highest ethical, legal, and moral standards. Create and uphold a safe and therapeutic environment in alignments with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
1. Work hours prescribed and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
2. Conduct psychiatric and health assessments, providing follow-up care and appropriate medication management.
3. Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for clients with anxiety disorders.
4. Lead and facilitate group psychoeducational programs for clients.
5. Provide staff education on relevant topics and offer clinical instruction for students.
6. Attend and contribute to administrative and team meetings as required.
7. Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives as assigned.
8. Engage in Infection Control activities and stay informed about current infection control practices.
9. Monitor and follow up on existing or new medical conditions that may impact treatment.
10. Make appropriate dietary referrals as needed.
11. Maintain certification in adult and infant/child CPR.
12. Participate as a member of assigned teams and actively engage in all team meetings and activities.
13. Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
14. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
15. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
16. Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
17. As assigned, performs CLIA-waved laboratory testing and related quality control activities in accordance with CLIA requirements, manufacturer instructions, infection control protocols, and organizational procedures.
