The provider will conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, assist with in-office procedures, and educate patients regarding their conditions and treatment options within a Urogynecology team. Responsibilities also include contributing to clinical decision-making, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and hold current licensure in Tennessee, with a Master's degree required for NPs. Prior experience in women’s health, pelvic medicine, or surgical specialties is preferred, alongside strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)- certification in family nurse practitioner OR Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program
Minimum of 1 years' experience in women's health care setting. Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
A nurse practitioner or physician assistant is employed by Erlanger Medical Center and is responsible for participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of patients.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioners protocols.
