The technologist performs duties as both a Radiologic Technologist and a Special Procedures Technologist within Interventional & Imaging Services, prioritizing exams, positioning patients, and ensuring quality film assessment. Responsibilities also include performing specialized procedures like cardiac catheterizations and assisting physicians with sterile technique and immediate post-operative patient care.
Candidates must possess a 2-year college certificate or equivalent and hold a New York State license in Radiologic Technology, or obtain it within six months of hire if holding a permit. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required within one year if licensed after 2007.
Performs as a radiologic technologist; prioritizes tasks and exams, confirms patient identification and examination, provides radiologist with pertinent information for interpretation, individualizes and provides effective explanations of exams to patients, correctly positions patients for standard examination views, performs special or additional views if required by adjusting routine for difficult or limited movement patients. Assesses film quality and determines the need for repeat. Discusses the exam with the radiologist. Works with all assigned X-ray equipment and accessories. Performs as a Special Procedures Technologist. Procedures include, but are not limited to: all angiography and digital acquisitions, cardiac catherizations, pacemaker insertions, IVC filters, stents, peripheral angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, insertion of dialysis catheters, PICCs, vertebroplasty, and uterine artery embolizations. Utilizes the ALARA principle to maintain safe radiation standards. Assists physicians in procedures requiring sterile technique. Assists the physician/RN in immediate post-operative care of the patient. Holds pressure to the groin after removal of the sheath. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years college certificate or equivalent. NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire. If licensed after 2007, must obtain the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.

PAY RANGE: $33.25 - $45.50 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
