The Respiratory Care Assistant administers medications and treatments under supervision and performs basic respiratory care techniques. They also respond to codes and stat calls, monitor patient conditions, and provide patient education.
Candidates should preferably be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program and have experience in a medical field. A high school education is required, and candidates must achieve specific respiratory credentials within a set timeframe.
This position performs all routine respiratory care modalities, sets up or changes all oxygen equipment, participates at codes and stat calls and performs other shift related duties as assigned or needed.
