This role involves continuously observing and interpreting patients’ cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG) and ensuring timely alerts and responses to any alarms. The technician must also maintain and report data accurately while assisting with clerical and communication tasks on the nursing unit.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and while previous monitor tech experience is preferred, successful completion of a Dysrhythmia course is required. Certification as a Telemetry Technician is preferred.
Non-licensed person responsible for continuously observing and interpreting patients’ cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG) and ensuring appropriate and timely alerts / responses to any alarms. Maintains and reports data in a timely manner. Assists in various clerical and communication functions on the nursing unit. Must be knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of the unit & health system.
Education & Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Previous monitor tech experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: Certified Telemetry Technician certification preferred. Successful Dysrhythmia course completion required. Knowledge & Skills: Able to read, write and speak English.
