Applicants must graduate from an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program, with specific timelines for obtaining MR registry depending on prior credentials. CPR or BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and documents patient history in electronic record, as required. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, and prior to the start of exam, reads and presents all relevant information to the physician based on protocol. Practices and maintains MR safety in the department, including the labeling, preparation, and administration of contrast. Ensures all exams within area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all patient information is updated and documented, all exams are properly networked for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation. Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.

MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained. CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.

If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.If practicing under a temporary permit: must be under direct supervision of licensed radiologic technologist, must obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of permit issue date. Temporary permits expire 180 days from date of issuance, or upon notice that license application denied, or ten days after notification of failure of licensing exam, whichever occurs first.
