The Mental Health Technician assists in the direct care and management of patients of all ages dealing with medical and behavioral issues, following directions from the treatment team. This role also involves supporting unit programming to facilitate therapy carryover, leisure activities, and activities of daily living based on patient functional ability and development level.
Candidates need a High School diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a bachelor's degree or college courses in related fields like healthcare or mental health. A minimum of one year of experience as a psychiatric or mental health aide is required, along with a current North Carolina Driver's License and CPR Certification.
The Mental Health Technician will assist in the direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. The Mental Health Technician will also assist with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient’s level of growth & development. Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent or combination of education/experience. Prefer bachelor’s degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development.
