Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient Compensation Pay Range: $42.42 - $57.09 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1 - Performs complete study including M-MODE, REAL TIME, COLOR FLOW MAPPING and DOPPLER. a - Acquires all necessary images and measurements according to lab protocols b - Interprets all techniques giving internal dimensions, wall motion and flow pattern analysis. c - Quantitative abnormal valve areas calculating gradients.
2 - Obtains permanent records of examination. a - Looks up patient information and previous echo exams in the patient's electronic medical records system b - Completes exam documentation and billing info in the patient's electronic medical records 3 - Contributes professional knowledge to final diagnostic impression or report. a - Writes preliminary interpretation for physician review. b - Informs physician during reading session of any non-conventional views taken.
4 - Stores daily examinations performed. a - Ensures that all studies download correctly to GE server.
5 - Technology – Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices. a - Able to utilize GE reading station including burning CD, downloading cases b - Able to utilize Epic (Electronic medical records) c - Able to utilize the electronic method of calling down inpatients in a timely and efficient manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education At least a (2) two year Echocardiography accredited program including technical and clinical training culminating in an associate degree or higher.
Minimum Work Experience At least (1) one to (2) two years experience preferred Required Certifications RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)) or RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Required Classes/Skills BLS - Basic Life Support (within 180 days after start date) ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 180 days after start date) Required additional Knowledge and Abilities Ability to demonstrate competency in echocardiography.
Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and be able to correlate this information into a useful study.
Must be able to deviate from normal techniques, when necessary, to develop new techniques.
