The Registered Nurse will provide care for adult medical and surgical neuro patients, including those recovering from spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomies, and neurological conditions like MS and ALS. Responsibilities also involve collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, particularly within the Comprehensive Stroke Program and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Wisconsin or a compact state, hold current CPR/BLS certification, and preferably have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. A minimum of six months of nursing experience is required unless currently participating in the UW Health Nurse Residency Program.
90% FTE, 8/12-hour evening/night shift with a two in six weekend rotation. Holiday rotation required. You will work at the University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Care for a variety of medical and surgical adult neuro patients to include post-surgical spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy and ophthalmology cases along with neurological patients with multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and trauma or ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnosis or spinal fractures requiring orthotics.

Help provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for those with epilepsy. This unit includes a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

Work Experience
Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
Relevant RN Experience Preferred
