The role involves providing Orthopedic Trauma Surgery care as an assistant to physicians in the clinic, following established standards with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include partnering with Trauma Surgeons for patient triage and evaluation in the hospital and clinic, ordering diagnostics/medications, and posting for surgery while on call.
Candidates must have a BA/BS/Undergraduate degree with appropriate certifications, and while minimal experience is acceptable, Orthopedic experience is preferred. Preferred qualifications include completion of an approved NP or PA program, Texas licensure/certification, and potentially 3 years of professional nursing or physician assistant experience in a clinic setting.
Provides Orthopedic Trauma Surgery care to patients acting as an assistant to physicians in the clinic following established standards and practices with minimal supervision. Physician Assistant will be responsible in partnering with Trauma Surgeons in the triage and evaluation of patients in the hospital and in the clinic. In the hospital, ordering of diagnostic imaging, medications, and posting for surgery is expected while on call. In the clinic, physician assistant will perform evaluations, co-plan with treatment plans, and carryout appropriate plan.
Job Requirements: 6 days of 24 hour call per month with Attending Physician and 3 days of clinic

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
