The Cardiac Diagnostic Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing in an ambulatory setting. This role supports cardiologists and cardiac testing teams by coordinating patient flow, performing assessments, monitoring during procedures, and ensuring high-quality outpatient care.

DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Support and monitor patients during outpatient cardiac diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to: exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, resting and stress echocardiograms, EKGs and ambulatory monitoring, and Coronary CTA Initiate and manage IV access and administer medications per protocol Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and patient symptoms throughout testing Educate patients and families on testing procedures, expectations, and post-test care Ensure a positive patient experience in a fast-paced outpatient environment Identify and respond to adverse reactions, arrhythmias, or hemodynamic instability Initiate emergency response and ACLS protocols as needed Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and medications Accurately document assessments, procedures, medications, and outcomes in the medical record Support efficient patient throughput while maintaining safety and quality standards Communicate abnormal findings or patient concerns promptly to the appropriate provider Adhere to outpatient regulatory and accreditation standards Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety activities and initiatives Assist with staff education and competency validation related to cardiac testing Perform related work as required.
