The Multi-Modality Technologist is responsible for performing a minimum of three imaging modalities and acquiring quality diagnostic imaging exams. They provide direct patient care, maintain images in the PACS system, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and possess certification by the ARRT in two pathways excluding Radiography. A Kentucky state license and BLS certification within 30 days of employment are also required.

Performs a minimum of 3 of the following imaging modalities, Radiography, CT, MR, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, DEXA, or Ultrasound in accordance with established practices and procedures based on required certifications. Responsible for acquiring quality diagnostic imaging exams, providing direct patient care, obtaining patient history, explaining routine procedures and addressing patient concerns. Responsible for maintaining images in PACS system and appropriate use of the EMR. Essential Functions: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols. Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals. Supports and reports any identified compliance matters. Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction. Maintains professional development and education for technical competency. Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times. Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position. Attends all UofL Health required educational programs as well as all Learn modules. Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently. Education / Accreditation / Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in 2 pathways not including Radiography (R).
