The Research Assistant will collect and manage quantitative and qualitative data for program evaluation and assessment activities. They will also conduct statistical analyses, maintain participant files, and produce reports for program leadership.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma with two years of college-level education, though a degree in a related field is preferred. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and relevant certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
In general, the Research Assistant will serve as a member of the assessment team for all activities affiliated with the implementation of the Research and Evaluation Plan. Essential Job Functions: Collect baseline and follow-up data on program participants and stakeholders; Administer and score assessment instruments; Develop basic statistical databases; Enter data in the clinical, federal, state and statistical databases as required; Monitor quantitative and qualitative data collection processes; Coordinate the compilation and management of data; Maintain a tracking and follow-up log for all participants and stakeholders; Engage and build rapport with participants and stakeholders to assist with tracking and follow-up; Conduct data audits for evaluation purposes; Administer Participant and Stakeholder Perception Surveys, conduct Focus Groups; Maintain a Research and Evaluation file for each participant; Conduct basic statistical analyses; Produce reports or assist in the development of reports as required; Provide feedback to the Program Director and/or Senior Vice President; Conduct literature searches via the Internet and World Wide Web; Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and Perform any other duties as assigned. QualificationsEssential Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field is preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of college-level education is required. Two (2) years of alcohol and other drug counseling experience may be substituted for one (1) year of college-level education. No more than one (1) year of college-level education may be substituted with alcohol and other drug counseling experience. Experience and Competencies: Intake and assessment experience is preferred; Marketing and/or sales experience preferred; Bilingual is preferred; Knowledge of the criminal justice system; Excellent communication skills; Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion; Ability to work well in a team environment; Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality; Professional appearance and demeanor; Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served; Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required; and CPR Certification and First Aid Certification.
