Assigns appropriate ICD and CPT codes to medical documentation for reimbursement and statistical purposes. Collaborates with physicians and coding staff to ensure accurate code assignment and continuous quality improvement.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of professional coding experience or completion of a coding fellowship. Candidates must hold an AAPC or AHIMA coding credential and possess proficiency in medical coding guidelines and electronic health record software.
