The Medical Assistant provides family-centered care to pediatric patients by assisting with exams, administering medications, and performing clinical procedures. They are also responsible for laboratory specimen collection and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant, LPN, LVN, or RN program. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and pediatric experience is preferred.

The Children's Clinic provides a range of services from well-child care to educational and outreach programs. They care for children with complex medical, psychosocial problems, and acute and chronic childhood illnesses. They also provide developmental, behavioral, nutritional assessment and guidance, and parent education.
The Medical Assistant role will provide professional family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents as delegated by a provider or RN which may include the following duties:
*Escort patients to exam room and appropriately document information. *Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by a clinician. *Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by clinician, such as; administering hearing/vision tests, rapid strep testing, nebulizer treatments and urine catheterizations. *Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality. *Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
*High school diploma or equivalent. *Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR completion of an LPN/LVN or RN program.
*1 year experience in a clinic setting or completion of Medical Assistant externship at a Children's Minnesota Clinic. *Pediatric experience.
*Phlebotomy and basic laboratory skills (if required by clinic site).
*Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
