The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the care of a group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. They report to the Director of the Department to which they are assigned.
Candidates must be graduates of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education or another state's licensing authority. Basic Life Support certification is required within 90 days of hire, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required in critical care units.
A caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the supervision/direction of a registered nurse. Reports to the Director of Department to which assigned.
Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education or by the licensing authority of another state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date. Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required in critical care units.
Appreciable physical effort required. Moving, lifting and assisting patients whose size and physical abilities can vary greatly. Some lifting, reaching and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.
