The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care, assists with activities of daily living, and implements treatment plans under nursing supervision. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment and observing patients to ensure their well-being during emotional crises.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree considered a plus. The role requires a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health and addiction disorders.
The Mental Health Technician plays an integral role in our comprehensive patient centered care model. Typical responsibilities include the following: Orient patient to unit and program. Carry out teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under the supervision of the nurse in charge. Provide continuous patient care and assist patients in all areas. Establish and maintain therapeutic boundaries complying with established training program. Demonstrate responsibility for observation of patients at all times. Assist patient with activities of daily living. Practice universal precautions and environment safety guidelines.
