The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care, including hygiene assistance and comfort measures, while observing and reporting patient status to the nursing staff. They function as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care and maintain accurate medical records.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a current Certified Nursing Assistant certification. A Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification and a valid driver's license are also required.
Under the leadership of the Director, Nursing, the Certified Nursing Assistant is an active member of the department that collects data, provides comfort measures and basic care to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing care that is appropriate for the patients’ developmental age and is culturally sensitive.
• Education:
Requires and maintains a Certified Nursing Assistant certification and a certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS certification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Requires and maintains a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Requires a current valid driver’s license. A Motor Vehicle Report is required upon hire and reviewed annually.
