The Healthcare Technician provides support to nursing staff by assisting with patient hygiene, activities of daily living, and monitoring vital signs. They also facilitate communication between departments and maintain unit supplies to ensure efficient operations.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Previous clinical experience, such as CNA work or relevant medical training, is required.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Health Care Technician (HCT) functions as a support to the licensed nursing staff and performs activities related to the personal care and hygiene needs of an assigned patient group. Facilitates communication with other departments, visitors, patients, medical staff and employees. Serves as a public relations liaison for the unit. Works under the direct supervision of the nursing manager.
