Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and vascular studies on patients of all ages to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Maintains equipment, ensures quality control, and provides patient education while maintaining a sterile and orderly work environment.
Requires completion of an approved diagnostic ultrasound program or equivalent experience and active registration with the ARDMS. Must possess CPR certification and the ability to handle a fast-paced medical environment with physical mobility requirements.
• Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping. Must be able to carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to assist patients on and off examining tables. Must be able to apply ultrasound transducers at angles and pressure appropriate to produce optimal images of patient anatomy. Must be able to differentiate colors and subtle sounds.
