Delivers family-centered critical care to pediatric patients, ranging from infants to age 25, by utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based interventions. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize patients, manage complex medical conditions, and provide emotional support to families.
Requires completion of a professional nursing program, a current Minnesota RN license, and active BLS and PALS certifications. Candidates must have critical care experience and be physically capable of meeting the demands of the unit.
We are currently hiring for a RN PICU. This is a 0.75 FTE - Straight Night. 12-hour shifts with every third weekend 12-hour shifts. Critical care experience required. Pediatric experience preferred. PALS, BLS required.
Join Gillette Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where nurses deliver highly specialized, high-acuity care to patients from infancy through young adulthood. In this role, you’ll support children and teens who are critically ill, recovering from complex surgeries, or healing from traumatic injuries—playing a vital role in stabilizing patients and setting the foundation for long-term recovery and rehabilitation.

As an RN, you’ll collaborate closely with a skilled, multidisciplinary team of critical care experts to manage complex conditions such as brain and spinal cord injuries, respiratory complications, severe infections, and post-surgical recovery.

Purpose of position
This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and/or provide skilled assistance in navigation of the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
