The psychiatric technician assists nurses in monitoring patient behavior and physical conditions while performing daily living support tasks. They also establish therapeutic relationships and help maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and strong communication skills. Previous experience in a psychiatric or medical-surgical setting is preferred, along with the ability to complete CPR and crisis intervention training within three months of hire.
