The EEG Technologist II performs various neurodiagnostic procedures including rEEG, cEEG, and NCV while ensuring patient safety and recording integrity. They are responsible for documenting clinically significant events, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining clear communication during transitions of care.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a professional certification in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.). A minimum of two to three years of experience in performing EEG procedures and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required. High school graduate or equivalent; entry level PC or Microsoft Windows knowledge. The EEG Technologist II has a minimum of three years experience in performing electroencephalography. The EEG Technologist II provides findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to ability policy and procedures. Strong well developed communication skills are essential or this position. The EEG Technologist II performs procedures appropriate to their competence and credentials held under general technical supervision. In addition to being BLS certified the EEG Tech II must have credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.). Two or more years experience in performing EEG procedures. Well-developed PC knowledge and skill. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
