Performs psychological testing, scores outcome measures, and maintains accurate patient data and equipment records. Trains milieu staff and provides direct services to children and families within the hospital setting.
Requires a baccalaureate degree in Psychology or a related field. Candidates must have at least six months of direct child care experience with emotionally impaired youth.
Performs a variety of duties pertaining to the outcome measures and psychological testing of Hospital patients, scoring of tests, and recording test results, and maintaining data for same. Trains and supervises milieu staff in administration of appropriate tests. Provides services to children and families. Schedules, administers, and scores outcomes and measures psychological tests for Hospital patients. Writes draft of assessment results for LifeChat. Reviews patient Hospital records. Complies and submits data and relevant behavioral observations of the patient to the Psychologist. Submits assessment data and draft to Psychologist. Performs a variety of related duties to assist Program personnel on research projects. Maintains accurate inventory and records of psychological equipment and supplies to ensure efficient operation. Designs appropriate forms to facilitate scoring of outcomes measures, psychological tests. Documents patient information, relevant to outcomes measures when administered, in Lifechart. Meets with parents/guardians at time of admission and discharge to administer outcomes questionnaire and Press Ganey Surveys. Completes and submits IRB. Performs other related duties as required, assigned, or directed. Observes all Hospital policies, rules, and regulations.
Baccalaureate degree in Psychology or related field is required. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. EXPERIENCE: Six months of direct child care work with emotionally impaired youth or in a related field is required. Familiarity with statistics and computer data entry preferred. INDEPENDENT ACTION: Performs independently within Program policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to Supervisor and Senior Psychology Assistant where clarification of Program policies and procedures may be required.
