The Medical Assistant will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to support medical staff in patient examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include recording vitals, administering medications, performing phlebotomy, and managing laboratory supplies.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and hold a professional certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and BLS certification are also required.
Taking medical histories and recording vitals. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician. Perform phlebotomy and manage lab supply orders. Authorize drug refills as directed. Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy. Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician Collect and prepare laboratory. Explaining treatment procedures to patients. Preparing patients for examinations procedures.
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. BLS required
