The Licensed Nurse Assistant provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and supporting patient mobility. They also perform clerical tasks and maintain a safe environment within the Progressive Care Unit.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a current Vermont Nursing Assistant license. CPR certification is required, and previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
The Licensed Nurse Assistant is primarily responsible for the completion of patient care that has been assigned by the Registered Nurse. The LNA directly assists with providing care to meet patient hygiene needs, takes and records vital signs and weights, assists with transfers, ambulation and transportation, assists with food trays/nourishments, feeds patients and records intake & output, answers call lights and telephone, performs clerical tasks, assists with organizing supplies, applies/uses specified patient care equipment, and maintains a safe environment while performing care. The LNA performs other non-nursing tasks as assigned.
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible.
High school graduate or equivalent. CPR certified.
Environment & Working Conditions Potential exposure to hazardous material, body fluids, bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.
Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155 In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
