The CRNA provides comprehensive anesthetic care, including induction, maintenance, and post-anesthesia support across various UPP facilities. They also participate in quality improvement processes and assist in the training and evaluation of new staff members.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program and hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and board certification or eligibility by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
Administer anesthesia and related care, including pre-anesthetic preparation, induction, maintenance, emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia support. Assumes responsibility and is accountable for controlled substances according to department and hospital policy and State and federal guidelines Assists with the teaching and evaluation of newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs. Performs according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Review appropriate documentation for informed consent and identify appropriate surgical site with operating room staff and surgeon in accordance with departmental and regulatory compliance standards Participate in the Quality Improvement (QI) process through documentation, incident reporting, evaluation, education, and implementation.
