The surgical technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile field, managing instrument counts, and assisting the surgical team with patient positioning and draping. They must also participate in timeout procedures and ensure proper labeling of medications and prostheses.
Candidates must hold a certification from the National Association of Surgical Technicians and have completed an accredited surgical technologist program. A current BLS certification is required, and the ability to respond to on-call duties within 45 minutes is mandatory.
This is a Resource position for 8-10 hour shifts. Schedule is dictated by the surgery schedule that that requires flexibility to meet the needs of the department and patients.The position reports to the Director of Perioperative Services.
