Requirements summary

SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated RN for our Critical Care department. Under the supervision of our Director of Acute Care and Surgery, the Registered Nurse delivers care to Adult and Critical Care patients by utilizing the nursing process and Critical Care nursing standards of practice. The nurse maintains competency and applies scientific knowledge utilizing evidence-based practice necessary to meet patient needs. Demonstrates progression of professional development and is supportive of the hospital’s mission, vision and values.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Utilizes evidence-based practice in the delivery of patient care

Demonstrate the commitment to ongoing evaluation of quality and effectiveness of nursing practice in Critical Care.
Supports unit standard of practice and performance improvement measures to enhance quality of care and service to the patient.
Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients and families through communication and acknowledgement of patient /family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes
Creates constructive partnerships with peers, professional nurses and other disciplines to achieve positive patient outcomes
Provides and gives courteous service to patients, visitors, staff and other disciplines both internal/external customers. Ensures that all communications and job activities results in a positive customer experience

Job requirements
Required
Graduate from an accredited or approved school of nursing.
Current RN License for the state of IL
One year of medical surgical or critical care experience required.
The RN must be knowledgeable of current nursing practices.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Using proper body mechanics, the employee may be expected to lift, pull, push or move patients and/or equipment.
Fine motor skills are required when using hands and fingers to handle, feel or reach.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, sharp eye focus and ability to distinguish colors.
