The Behavioral Health Clinician II is responsible for providing direct, high-quality psychotherapy services including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and various forms of therapy (group, individual, family) for patients. This role also involves assisting patients and families with understanding diagnoses, identifying resources, and potentially serving as a primary therapist or preceptor for interns.
Requirements summary
A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy is required, along with an active Alabama LICSW, LPC, or LMFT license and BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, case management, and a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

This individual will assist patients and their families to understand and adjust to diagnoses and potential treatments.
The Clinician will also help identify resources during treatment and after discharge.
In addition, the Clinician may assume primary therapist responsibilities as directed by the Physician.
The Clinician may also serve as a preceptor to Behavioral Health interns.
This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education/Experience: Master’s degree or above from an accredited college in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related field required.
Prior experience with psychiatry, behavioral health, and knowledge of case management is preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position and/or industry preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Active Alabama LICSW, LPC, or LMFT required, BLS required, additional certifications (Secure, ACLS, PALS, etc.) may be required depending upon area assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
