Perform patient intake, monitor vital signs, and assist providers with clinical procedures and equipment setup. Handle administrative tasks including phone calls, scheduling, and documenting patient data in the EMR system.
Must hold a high school diploma or GED and successfully complete a Nursing Assistant class while maintaining registry requirements. Healthcare experience is preferred.
· Take temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. · Completes the intake process when rooming a patient. · Observe and report changes in the patient’s status to Provider, RN, or LPN caring for the patient. · Assist with setting up auxiliary equipment or procedures as necessary under the direction of Provider, RN or LPN, which does not require a license for performance. · Answer phone calls, take phone messages, remove voicemail messages from workgroup mailboxes and deliver them to RN or LPN for appropriate follow-up. · Call patients regarding appointments and general information based on specific instructions provided by the Provider, RN or LPN ensuring no other unrelated information is discussed. · Process instruments and equipment utilizing sterilization techniques and equipment. · Document all patient data and information into EMR. · May be required to learn the scheduler role and serve as a backup in scheduling patients, answer phone calls and assisting in work queues. · Attend staff meetings. · Be sufficiently knowledgeable about the legal aspects of his or her responsibilities and activities to be able to avoid inadvertent violation of State and Federal statutes and regulations. · Comply with applicable laws related to their job responsibilities and refrain from knowingly participate in illegal activities or failing to meet affirmative legal duties. · Carry out his or her duties in furtherance of the commitment of the Organization to conduct itself, through the actions of this employee and agents, in an ethical manner, reflecting its mission and purpose and to avoid violations of the law. · Be knowledgeable of and comply with pertinent federal and state standards. · Report any suspected or known illegal activity. · Regular attendance is required. · Other duties as assigned by management.
· Education: Hold a High School diploma or GED · Experience: Prefer healthcare experience. · Successfully complete Nursing Assistant class and maintain Registry Requirements.
