The Phlebotomy Technician provides direct clinical support by collecting blood specimens and performing point-of-care testing. They are responsible for ensuring proper specimen handling and maintaining strict adherence to safety and infection control standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited phlebotomy program and hold ASCP or AMT certification along with current BLS. A minimum of 1,040 hours of experience and two professional letters of recommendation are required.

The Phlebotomy Technician provides direct clinical support to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth by collecting blood specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and ensuring proper specimen handling in accordance with clinical, safety, and infection control standards. The technician will work with a diverse patient population in a fast-paced medical environment.
00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; shifts typically 8.5–9 hours, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Schedules may vary based on operational needs. Up to 40 hours per week (based on operational needs).
