The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for optimizing patient drug therapy through assessment, dosing, and monitoring services. They also manage drug distribution, sterile compounding, and provide drug information to medical staff while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must possess strong clinical knowledge, including the ability to perform dosage calculations and interpret complex medication orders. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team are essential.
The Clinical Pharmacist ensures the safe and effective use of medications by assessing for optimal drug selection, dosing regimen, and drug therapy monitoring services across the health system. The position will evaluate patient specific care plans and resolve medication related issues with the goal of optimizing pharmaceutical care. The Clinical Pharmacist position requires an understanding of the various work functions and activities associated with drug distribution, intravenous admixture services (compounded sterile products), pharmacy automation and the provision of drug information to the Medical, Nursing and Ancillary staffs, and the community in keeping with TJC, Department of Health and Senior Services, DEA/BNDD and Board of Pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
