The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating the credentialing application and verification process. They also provide administrative support to the Medical Staff Department services.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with at least five years of executive or legal experience including two years in a hospital medical office. Alternatively, an associate degree or higher is accepted with two years of executive experience including one year in a medical office.
Responsible for overall coordination of the credentialing application and verification process and support the function of the Medical Staff Department services.
1. Able to take minutes. 2. Demonstrates computer literacy; knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, etc. 3. Good organizational and communication skills. 4. High energy necessary, must be able to handle multi-tasks. 5. Must be able and have transportation between facilities 6. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. High school diploma or equivalent, required; 2. 5 years of administrative, credentialing, or healthcare staffing experience, required. or 3. Associates degree, required; 4. 3 years of administrative, credentialing, or healthcare staffing experience, required. 5. (CPCS) Certification Provider Credentialing Specialist Certification desired.
