The Ophthalmic Technician performs preliminary patient work-ups, assists physicians during examinations, and documents patient encounters in electronic medical records. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment, cleaning exam rooms, and communicating follow-up care instructions to patients.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and hold a certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Ophthalmic Scribe. Preferred applicants possess at least six months of outpatient or medical office experience and demonstrate strong computer and communication skills.
