Requires a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of North Carolina and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a stressful hospital environment.

As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
How you’ll contribute
Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
Establishes and maintains efficient methods of ensuring the medical necessity and appropriateness of all hospital admissions while obtaining precertification's.
Performs admission and concurrent precerts for patients to ensure that the claim has an authorization number to prevent denials.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with payors, staff, etc.
Reviews charts for clinical information to obtain precertification.
Maintains proper telephone etiquette to referral sources.
Manage patients along with RN case manger supervision.
Evaluate patient status is correct per medical necessity for appropriate reimbursement.
Non-Essential Functions Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.
