The Nuclear Medicine Technician is responsible for performing a full range of nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and specialized imaging equipment. They ensure quality patient care, timely exam throughput, and maintain equipment performance according to safety and accreditation standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program and hold current California and national certifications (ARRT(N) or NMTCB). A minimum of one year of acute hospital experience is preferred, along with current BLS certification.
Your Role on the Team
This position is responsible for the performance of the full range of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. Responsible for the provision of quality patient care, including the timely throughput of patients and the performance of their exams. Operates and performs quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment including SPECT and gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices and ancillary equipment. Performs Nuclear Medicine diagnostic studies on a SPECT and Gamma camera, including image acquisition and reformatting. The incumbent is responsible for performing necessary scans and procedures to aid in scanner qualifications ACR accreditation. Creates and programs study specific protocols including administration, imaging, and reformatting under the direction of the Imaging Manager and Medical Director. Requirements include working on-call (evenings and weekends), in addition to holidays.
