Provide continuous emotional and physical support to birthing individuals throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum periods. Facilitate community education, conduct home visits, and advocate for client needs within clinical care teams.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and specific certifications such as Certified Postpartum Doula. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in maternity support and 4 years in a healthcare or community health environment.
