The veterinarian is responsible for providing medical care, performing surgeries, and conducting examinations for shelter animals. They also provide mentorship to externs and technical staff while maintaining high standards of clinical care and documentation.
Applicants must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and possess a valid Texas veterinary license and DEA license. Strong surgical skills, professional communication, and the ability to work effectively in a stressful shelter environment are required.
