• JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 42 Work Shift: 7am-7pm Summary of the Job: The Nursing Assistant assists the nursing staff in performing routine patient care for a group of patients for a designated period of time.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent required. Current certification validated from the State of Louisiana Board of Examiners or must be currently enrolled in an NLN accredited RN program, in good standing and completed the first hospital-based clinical rotation. Current BLS through the American Heart Association. Good communication skills. Ability to meet weekend and holiday requirements. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - seeing Frequently (34%-66%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking and hearing Occasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping and crouching EMPLOYMENT Each St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
